Thomas is an economist by degree with various other qualifications in foreign exchange, treasury and derivatives. Before co founding Rochford, Thomas spent 8 years at HiFX Plc; originally in the UK before coming to Sydney in early 2007 to launch HiFX’s FX Advisory business in the Australian market place. Thomas has extensive experience advising some of the largest companies in Europe and Australasia on treasury risk management.
Marilia has 10 years experience in financial market risks and is a CFA charterholder. Prior to joining Rochford, she was Head of Risk Advisory at Validus Risk Management, leading a team specialised in designing and delivering complex risk solutions for the alternative investment industry.
Marilia has also worked for Itau BBA for 5 years, one of Brazil’s largest investments banks, where she focused on FX, derivatives and fixed-income products for corporates, ranging from SME to large-cap. She holds a BA in business administration and is a member of the CFA Society in the UK.
Derek is a Treasury professional with extensive experience gained with major financial institutions in the UK and Middle East on trading and risk management desks. Derek’s hands-on approach and practical market knowledge provides a sound base for the appropriate application of treasury products to the effective management of corporate exposures.
This broad practical knowledge is complemented by an MBA – International Business, the Association of Corporate Treasurers (UK) Diploma and recognition as a Certified Finance & Treasury Professional with the Finance and Treasury Association in Australia.
Kevin is an experienced Chartered Accountant and treasury professional having worked for major financial service institutions in Australia and the UK, including JP Morgan, BNP Paribas, AMP and Rathbone Brothers.
His expertise spans end-to-end accounting functions, including financial control, system analytics, hedge accounting, financial statement preparation and treasury operations. This provides an ideal base and position to understand clients’ needs, in order to deliver best practice advice.
Kevin is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ), a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and an associate member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT).
Simon has worked for major financial institutions such as Royal Bank of Scotland and GE Capital prior to joining Rochford. He has an extensive background structuring debt solutions for large corporates across a wide range of asset classes and industry sectors. As such has an acute understanding of the relationship between the treasury function and the commercial objectives of our clients.
His practical knowledge is complimented by a 1st in Economics, Diploma in Corporate Banking and ABFA qualifications.
Thomas specialises in the improvement of business processes and systems, with emphasis on financial market risk and treasury functions. Since joining Rochford, Thomas has managed FX hedging programs on behalf of clients, while leading project delivery in the agriculture, oil, FX brokerage, global education and pharmaceuticals sectors; amongst others. He also oversees Rochford’s product development. Thomas is a Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) with a Masters from the University of Sydney where he specialised in Finance and Banking, complementing his BA in Economics.
Mark is a seasoned finance professional with over 25 years of international treasury and operational finance experience in corporate finance and consulting. Prior to advising clients on financial matters, he held among others the positions of Vice President & Treasurer, DFS Corporation and Regional CFO – Asia, Tupperware Corporation. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
With over 8 years' experience in business improvement and project management within the finance, food processing and agri-business industries, Federico is a natural leader with strategic and analytical thinking processes and problem solving and teamwork skills.
Federico has recently graduated with Distinction WAM from a full-time MBA in the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM @ UNSW Business School). He speaks English, Spanish & Portuguese.
Passionate about continuous learning and data driven management, Federico enjoys working in an environment that promotes creativity and innovation and thrives in the strong Rochford team environment.
As a recent graduate from the University of Sydney, where he specialised in predictive analytics techniques (through machine learning) and corporate finance, Gabe brings to Rochford a strong focus on financial technology driven solutions.
Previous experience includes working within the fin-tech space as well as advising the Westpac Group on Artificial Intelligence solutions within the banking sector for a university project.
Gabe thrives within Rochford’s dynamic team environment that encourages strong work ethic, diligence and innovation.
Jess is a recent University of Sydney graduate where she majored in Professional Accounting and Finance. During her time at University, she was selected for the Industry Placement Program and undertook internships at PwC, American Chamber of Commerce and more. She has great interest in analytical thinking and data presentation.
At Rochford, she serves as an Analyst and is a member of the Business Intelligence Team. She has a keen eye for detail and an outstanding work ethic. Within Rochford she has gained a better understanding of the financial world, while learning new skills to complement her existing capability.
Sue joined Rochford in late 2018 as HR / Office Manager. She brings 20+ years experience in Administration spanning across organisations of all sizes. In particular, Sue’s 8 years working with the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) across multiple high-level admin roles and in the HR team, allows her to apply a strong skill set to her role at Rochford.
Along with a solid administration background, Sue’s organisation skills, refined inter-personal skills and can-do attitude makes her a strong fit to support the Rochford team and it's business objectives.
