Thomas Averill - Managing Director

Thomas is an economist by degree with numerous qualifications in foreign exchange, treasury and derivatives.

Before co-founding Rochford, Thomas spent 8 years at HiFX Plc, originally in the UK before arriving in Sydney early 2007 to launch HiFX’s FX Advisory business in the Australian market place.

Thomas has extensive experience advising some of the largest companies in Europe and Australasia on treasury risk management.

Simon Hodges - Director

Simon has worked for large financial institutions including Royal Bank of Scotland and GE Capital and has an extensive background structuring debt solutions for large corporates across a wide range of asset classes and industry sectors. As such, Simon has an acute understanding of the relationship between the treasury function and the commercial objectives of our clients.

His practical knowledge is complimented by a 1st in Economics, Diploma in Corporate Banking and ABFA qualifications.

Luke Fryday - Head of Market Risk

Luke is widely experienced in foreign exchange and commodities having spent over 20 years working at both investment banks and brokers in Australia and the United Kingdom.

Before joining Rochford Luke spent 13 years at Macquarie Bank FX in a number of sales and trading roles. The client base included high net worth individuals, listed corporates and Central Banks.

Luke graduated from Macquarie University, having completed a Bachelor of Business Administration majoring in Economics. His extensive product knowledge and experience enable Luke to offer tailored and timely risk management solutions.

Susan Watts - Head of Partnerships

Sue has a 30 year International career within Investment Banking, Foreign exchange markets, Charitable fundraising & Business ownership, in Australia, Europe & North America.

Working across diverse industry sectors from Treasury Risk management, Angel investing, Syndicated financing and Medical oncology, she brings a very broad perspective on understanding Business’s needs and collaborating with Leaders on strategy. She has an Economics degree from the Institute of Higher Education, NY, and is invested in mentoring and educating the next generation of business leaders.

David Storm - Head of Distribution

David has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 30 years across Asset Management, Platforms, Advice and Trustee Services. David recently established Storm Capital Partners to assist and advise emerging Asset Managers and Platforms to design and implement contemporary Retail Product solutions. David has extensive experience in leading National Distribution Teams in the Retail Financial Intermediary market. David has worked for Citibank, Advance Asset Management, Ord Minnett, IOOF, Australian Wealth Management and Onevue in Senior Executive roles.

Niall Corrigan - Senior Treasury Manager

Niall has spent 4 years providing FX, Interest Rate and Treasury Risk Management solutions across the Americas, Europe & APAC. Niall has worked with names such as HSBC & PMC Treasury, taking ownership of relationships in PE, Infra, and Real Estate sectors. Responsibilities ranged from strategy creation to deal execution.

Niall has assisted clients to identify and quantify risk exposures and provided actionable solutions through strategic interest rate and FX derivatives. His approach is tailored to the economic realities of each client, resulting in solutions optimized for their unique KPIs delivered effectively and efficiently.

Mark Bobek - Managing Director Asia

Mark is a seasoned finance professional with over 25 years of international treasury and operational finance experience in corporate finance and consulting.

Prior to advising clients on financial matters, he held among others the positions of Vice President & Treasurer, DFS Corporation and Regional CFO - Asia, Tupperware Corporation. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Finance from DePaul University and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Derek Mumford - Consultant

Derek is a Treasury professional with over 30 years experience in trading and risk management, having worked with financial institutions in the UK and Middle East. Derek’s hands-on approach and practical market knowledge provides a sound base for the appropriate application of treasury products to the effective management of corporate exposures.

Dereks broad practical knowledge is complemented by an MBA - International Business, the Association of Corporate Treasurers (UK) Diploma and recognition as a Certified Finance & Treasury Professional with the Finance and Treasury Association in Australia.

Joe Goodwin - Head of Business Development

Meet Joe Goodwin, a seasoned business development professional in the foreign exchange industry. With a career kickstarted in London, Joe has navigated through various roles in FX brokerages, specializing in establishing and growing international partnerships, key account management, business development and leading sales desks.

Relocating to Sydney in 2020, he contributed to OFX before making a strategic move to Rochford. With over 10 years of experience in foreign exchange having built strategic partnerships within the wealth management, legal and international property sectors, Joe currently spearheads the business development team at Rochford.

Kaan Yuksel - Compliance Consultant

Kaan brings a deep understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks in financial services, as well as strong experience in dealing with regulatory agencies. Having worked across many different sectors in financial services, Kaan has broad and sophisticated experience in relation to corporate governance, regulatory compliance, data protection, AML/CTF and financial services regulation.

Kaan is a Macquarie University graduate, having completed a Bachelor of Laws with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in International Business. He is also an admitted solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW.

Alan Butterfield - Consultant

Alan has a long career in credit and risk, commencing with PWC in insolvency and recoveries before moving into lending with Bank of Scotland, GE Capital and then private credit. A pioneer in leverage and structured finance in Australasia, Alan has worked across borders in a broad range of industries driving success from a flexible approach to capital structuring.
